Biographical / Historical

Joe Harnell (1924-2005) was an American composer, musician, and music arranger. He worked as an accompanist for singers such as Judy Garland, Maurice Chevalier, Marlene Dietrich, and Peggy Lee. Harnell wrote music for Kapp Records, United Artists, "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show," Grey Advertising, and "The Mike Douglas Show." His television compositions include "The Bionic Woman," "The Incredible Hulk," "Alien Nation," and "V." Harnell was a faculty member at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music as an instructor in film score composition.
