Battlestar Galactica, created by David Eick and Ron Moore, is a reimagining of the 1978 television series Battlestar Galactica, which was created by Glen A. Larson. The franchise first rebooted with a three-hour mini-series in December 2003. After the success of the mini-series, the Sci-Fi Channel ordered the thirteen weekly episodes that made up the series’ first season. The show ran for a total of four seasons, ending in 2009.
