Includes faculty meetings, faculty committee records, records of the California Social Work Education Committee (CALSWEC), Alexander's personnel records and evaluations by students and fellow faculty members. The bulk of the collection is material related to Alexander's courses in Social Policy and Management taught at CSULB, including course sequences, syllabi, readings, handouts, some student papers, and related materials. Correspondence relating to all of these topics is also included.

Drafts or typescripts of most of Alexander's papers and a considerable number of his public presentations. Included are working notes and correspondence, whenever they were available. Also included are three folders of reprints from 1953 to 1981, collected and arranged by Alexander.
