This collection consists of the papers of Gelya Frank (born 1948), an American author and anthropology professor at the University of Southern California. These papers include manuscripts, field notes, interview transcripts, photographs, awards, correspondences, and research for the studies and books that she has written, including her book "Venus on Wheels."

Biographical / Historical

Gelya Frank is an author and professor at the University of Southern California. She teaches in the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and the Dornsife College Department of Anthropology. Her books include "Venus on Wheels: Two Decades of Dialogue on Disability, Biography and Being Female in America," "Defying the Odds: The Tule River Tribe’s Struggle for Sovereignty in Three Centuries," and "Making Better Worlds: Occupational Reconstructions and Social Transformations."
