Biographical / Historical

Walter Wolf (1931-2015), Distinguished Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, was renowned for innovations in radiopharmacy and non-invasive biomedical imaging. Wolf came to USC in 1959 as a part of the Department of Chemistry then moved to the School of Pharmacy in 1962. Realizing the importance of having pharmacists specialize in the field of radioactive drug products, Wolf established the school’s radiopharmacy program in 1968. In addition to research at the School of Pharmacy and his work as an educator, Wolf also directed radiopharmacy services at the LAC+USC Medical Center from 1971 to 1987.
