Biographical / Historical

Rosario Castellanos (1925-1974) was a Mexican poet and author known for her work concerning cultural and gender oppression. Her writings influenced Mexican feminist theory and cultural study. She served as the Mexican ambassador to Israel for the three years preceding her death.
