Biographical / Historical
Nacho López (1923–1986) was a photojournalist in Mexico, active for less than a decade during the 1950s. He preferred photographing common people around Mexico City and worked on photographic series, or “photo-essays” for publication in weekly pictorial magazines. López studied at the Instituto de Artes y Ciencias Cinemato-gráficas from 1945 to 1947 and principally learned photography from Mexican artistic photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo (1902-2002).
