 Collection — Folder: 1
Identifier: 6180

Content Description

The Ku Klux Klan ephemera collection consists of two notices promoting public events held by the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), two blank petition forms for membership in the KKK, and one informational pamphlet regarding the KKK's attitudes toward immigration -- all created circa 1924. The two KKK events documented in the collection: "Ku Klux Klan Kolossal Karnival" (March 15th to March 22nd, 1924) and "Meet Your Friends---Ku Klux Klan Day" (undated) were both organized to take place in Dallas, Texas. The petition forms are titled "Petition for Citizenship in the Invisible Empire." Both of the membership forms are blank, except for a handwritten note at the top of one: "Ca. 1924 Texas." Accompanying these membership petitions is an additional blank form, which begins: "Form 132-P. H. / Dear Madam: You have been elected to membership in the Women of the Ku Klux Klan." Lastly, the collection contains an undated pamphlet titled "The Attitude of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Toward Immigration."
