Abstract

A small collection of simple scores of popular music prepared for the Music Section of the Division of Instruction and Curriculum of the Los Angeles City School District. Each score is pasted onto a piece of cardboard. The Los Angeles City School District was formed in 1870 to mirror the boundaries of the City of Los Angeles. After 1890 and the formation of the Los Angeles City High School District, it served elementary and junior high school students. It ceased operations in 1961, with the formation of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
