The papers of Frank O. Sotomayor, Pulitzer Prize-winning editor, formerly at the Los Angeles Times; adjunct faculty member at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism; freelance writer and editor; and leader in national efforts toward newsroom diversity and inclusive coverage of all communities, including (but not limited to) Latino communities in California. Collection highlights in the Frank O. Sotomayor papers include:

From the Collection:
  1. A full set of Nuestro Tiempo, the bilingual (English-Spanish) supplement of the Los Angeles Times, which was published, usually monthly, from 1989 to 1994.
  2. Sotomayor's research materials that led to the publication of a 27-article series, Latinos in Southern California, which won the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Among the research materials are the results of a Los Angeles Times poll taken of Latinos, then a rare occurrence.
