Scope and Contents
Contains newspaper clippings, itineraries, memorandum, correspondence, handwritten notes, brochures, annual reports, company Christmas cards, and proposals pertaining to the activities of Citizens Energy Corporation and Bender's role as a consultant for the organization. Much of the material addresses plans and negotiations to secure crude oil contracts with the Angolan government. There are also a few memos sent to Bender from Conoco Houston in the mix.

Biographical / Historical
Citizens Energy Corporation is a 501(c)(4) non-profit founded by Joseph Patrick Kennedy II that uses revenues from commmercial enterprises to fund various charitable programs to assist the poor and elderly in the United States and internationally. One of their main activities entailed purchasing crude oil agreements with petroleum-producing nations such as Ecuador, Nigeria and Angola, and using the profits to reduce the cost of home heating oil for the poor and elderly. Bender provided consultation for their negotiations with Angola.
