Scope and Contents
Created to memorialize the scattering at sea of the ashes of George Hurrell and Elizabeth Hurrell on Saturday July 31, 2010 off the coast of Laguna Beach where George Hurrell first settled and worked upon his arrival in California in 1925. The yacht "White Light" was chartered for this occasion and only the children of George and Elizabeth "Betty" Hurrell and their spouses (Daphne and Frank, George Jr. and Jeanette, Mike and Marcie), and their grandchildren, as well as friend and collector Louis F. D'Elia and his partner, Michael Salazar, were in attendance. George and Betty's ashes were scattered at latitude 33'33.480' N and longitude 117'50.912'W.
