Scope and Contents
The George Hurrell Photography series consists of photographs, print materials, camera equipment, and audio visual materials, created and collected by George Hurrell, Lou D'Elia and Alexandra Palazzola. The bulk of the series consists of Hurrell's studio portraits, both vintage and modern, of Hollywood stars from throughout the 20th century, musicians, and artists. Also included are photographs of Hurrell, taken by others, of the photographer at work, portraits and snapshots of Hurrell (most notably the series of portraits taken by Helmut Newton), and some of Hurrell’s camera equipment.
