 Sub-Series

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of letters between Lawrence Lipton and key members of the Beat Generation movement, many of the publishers with whom Lipton corresponded regarding the publishing of his work, and publishers who sent Lipton the work of other writers. The correspondence between Lipton and noteworthy authors such as Allen Ginsberg, his ex-wife Craig Rice, and many jazz musicians demonstrates Lipton’s engagement with the literary and music community of the mid-twentieth century.
