Historical note

The American Friends Service Committee, founded in 1917, began working actively with Japanese Americans during World War II. The AFSC focused its efforts on Japanese resettlement and helping Japanese-Americans adjust to the relocations. Members visited Japanese-Americans in their homes and later in the camps to provide moral support; they spoke publically about the relocations; and they collected food for interned families. The Information Bulletin was published by the Japanese-American Relocations Committee of the AFSC, which was based in Pasadena, and which supplied news of the committee's work to its members.
