Historical note

The Manzanar Free Press was a typeset, printed newspaper published at the Manzanar relocation camp. Its publication spanned Manzanar's time as both an assembly center and a War Relocation Authority Camp. Publication began on April 1, 1942 and ended on October 19, 1945. Story coverage in the paper was typical of a small town newspaper, with stories on social events, religious activities, classified ads, etc.
