The subseries includes information about the campaign of Alphonzo Bell for Mayor of Los Angeles in 1969, background information on the city of Los Angeles and the Mayor of Los Angeles, information on important political issues, information on incumbent opponent Samuel William Yorty, promotional literature from the Alphonzo Bell for Mayor committee, information on Alphonzo Bell's political headquarters, advertisements and television interviews, fundraisers, and financial information. Alphonzo Bell lost in the primary election to Samuel Yorty. After the loss, Bell turned his support to Thomas J. Bradley who then lost in the runoff election to Samuel William Yorty.
