Scope and Contents
Hermann Abendroth was a German composer and director of the Cologne Conservatory (1925-1934). He was initially removed from his post by the Nazi government, but was reinstated soon afterward and joined the Nazi party officially. After the war, he became music director of Weimar (1945-1956) when it was part of East Germany.
