Scope and Contents
Contained in this series are drafts, proofs, and manuscripts of various works by Carol Muske-Dukes both published and unpublished. Drafts of poems have been collected under their individual titles unless there is evidence that the author or publisher compiled the poems to resemble a book form. In addition to documenting the process through which Muske-Dukes created her works, this series contains publicity regarding the works, as well as published reviews. Overall, this series is intended to trace the life of Muske-Dukes' works from their creation to their reception by the literary world.

Abstract
The files for book length works were maintained according to original groupings found upon receipt with the following exceptions:The proofs for Octave Above Thunder were rearranged to combine the "Rough Pages," and at least one completed proof without "Rough Pages." The untitled manuscript of early work was cobbled together from poems contained in a folder titled "Early Work" according to a table of contents also contained in the folder.
