Historical Collection for Holocaust Research and Education at USC
Scope and Content
Several of Lazar’s books, articles, and courses that he taught explored the topic of anti-semitism especially with regard to propaganda art and imagery in the Middle Ages. A few of his published works on this theme include L’enfer et les diables dans le théâtre medieval italien, Le diable et la vierge: textes dramatiques du Moyen Age, The lamb and the scapegoat: the dehumanization of the Jews in Medieval propaganda imagery, and Anti-Jewish and Anti-Converso propaganda: Confutatio libri Talmud and Alboraiqu. The files in this series contain drafts and sections of these works, plus research notes and copies of related articles as well as anti-semitic cartoons and artwork.
