Scope and Content

Materials in the series pertain to the relationship between police officials and the communities they serve in the context of riot prevention and control. Included are interviews and roundtable discussions with law enforcement personnel from several major cities, pamphlets and newsletters produced by the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University, several reports and studies pertaining to civil disorder, and a series of articles about community-based policing reproduced by the Traffic Institute.
