Scope and Content
Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue investigated how LAPD administrators respond to personnel complaints and allegations of misconduct. Materials in the series were collected and analyzed by the firm for this purpose, and include summaries of witness interviews; article clippings discussing instances of alleged police misconduct; source materials related to the LAPD’s use-of-force policies; a transcript of a court case involving officer misconduct; summaries of personnel complaint statistics; and excerpts taken from the personnel files of officers with multiple complaints and misconduct charges. Also included is correspondence sent and received by the firm over the course of its investigation.
