Biographical note
Ruth Forbes Sherry was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1883. She attended Vassar College and Stanford University, where she met her husband, Ralph Sherry. They married in 1909 and had two sons and one daughter. Ruth was a nationally-recognized poet, but did not start writing poetry until she was 50. She passed away in Orange County, California, in 1970.
