Letter written by Orion Ashenfelter to his family. He starts off by saying that was sworn in at the League Island Navy Yard. Orion was then transferred to the U.S.S.R.S. at Norfolk, Va. Afterwards, he was transferred to the U. S. S. Buffalo at the Norfolk dock yards. Orion goes on to give specific dates in which he was in places such as the Azores Islands, England, China, among many other destinations. Orion closes his letter by thanking everyone for their letters. Towards the end of the later, he makes note that it is his 25th birthday.
