Photo Album "11", 1917 - 1948
Scope and Content
This album is a white 3-ring binder with plastic photo pages and photos pasted onto black paper inside the photo pages. The first seventy-one photos are from 1945. They consist of Dailey Bros. advertisements, trains, circusgoers, performers, and elephants. The next twelve photos were taken at Fair for Britain in 1948 and the Terrell Jacobs Circus in 1942. These photos are mainly of elephants, performers, and the circus tents. Next, there are two photos of Robbins Bros. wagons and a Clyde Beatty train, taken in 1938. Then there is one 1922 photo of a Gollman Bros. circus. There are two photos from 1935 of the Rice Bros. Circus, then three photos of a Downie Bros. parade and trucks. There is one 1941 photo of what appears to be a Cole Bros. float. The following three photos were taken in 1924 and are of Sells-Floto animals and wagons. The next two are photos from 1926, of a wall of Christy Bros. advertisements. There is a blank page, then three photos of a Barnum & Bailey parade and train at Birmingham, Alabama in 1917. Next are two 1938 photos of Al G. Barnes and Sells-Floto train cars in Tennessee. Then there are six photos of Budweiser horses in San Diego in 1947. Lastly, there are six photos from a fair in 1946 that are not associated with any particular circus.
