 File — Box: 3, Folder: 41

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Richard Nixon's presidency media and press relations subseries consists of clippings, reports, press releases, and transcripts, 1968-1974, created, collected, and used by Herbert G. Klein and his staff that document and detail the Nixon administration's relationship with and perception by the press. Clippings come from newspapers all over the country and cover a wide variety of topics and issues, including the 1970 and 1972 elections. Press releases are primarily those issued by departments other than Klein's. News summary reports are compilations of press coverage of various aspects of the administration's foreign and domestic policy. Press briefing materials and Q&As include press briefing boooks that outline the administration's policies on certain questions regarding domestic and foreign policy issues likely to be posed by the press. The transcripts document press conferences and news briefings, television news shows such as Face the Nation and Meet the Press, and various interviews and statements made by Klein. Some of this latter material duplicates, in different formats, materials found in the Speeches and speaking engagements subseries.
