Haldeman and Chuck Colson; notes taken by Klein during Cabinet meetings; notes from Congressional Leadership meetings; notes, agendas, and schedules from Rural Affairs Council meetings; notes from Council for Urban Affairs meetings; notes and agendas for the Saturday Planning Committee meetings; and notes scribbled by Klein on a wide variety of media topics. Also present are files (clippings, reports, correspondence) maintained by Klein's assistant, Jeni Brown; memoranda to the President; memoranda to William Safire, Vice President Spiro Agnew, and members of Klein's communications staff (originally labeled "People files"); information on presidential briefings; communications policy task force report with related notes, memoranums, and background information; and miscellaneous meeting notes, speech notes, briefing notes, clippings, and printed ephemera. Also included are clippings and press releases on Klein's appointment and resignation; statements and interviews by Klein; clippings about the work of the office; and articles by Klein. Many of these files were compiled and maintained by Klein staffer Suzanne Lowe. The subseries also contains schedules for Excecutive Branch speeches; information on congressional activity; news planning calendars; daily and monthly reports on the activities of the department compiled by Klein staffer Margita White; information on equal time, the Freedom of Information Act, and the Federal Communications Commission; reports on the economy created by Margita White; mailings to the press; information for the press regarding Nixon's trip to the Soviet Union; information for and about press briefings; and correspondence, memorandums, and press information for the 1970 and 1972 elections.
