Abstract Scrapbook of clippings created by George E. Outland documenting the 1931 USC-Notre Dame football game. Clippings come from newspapers from all over the United States. Also included is a section on the 1931 Stanford-Dartmouth football game. Outland was born in Santa Paula, Ventura County, California, on October 8, 1906. Abstract

This small collection of memorabilia is comprised of high school and college photographs of Owen, several photographs of him in military uniform as well as of the destroyer named for him, citations from the Secretary of the Navy for the squadron's heroism, a Purple Heart certificate, and diplomas from Los Angeles High School as well as USC. Many of the naval documents and certificates are very tightly rolled as they were stored in a narrow tube.

Abstract Howard Ralston was an alumnus of the University of Southern California (class of 1930) and part of a family acting troupe as a child. Born in Bar Harbor, Maine in 1904, Ralston's family traveled around the country before eventually settling in Hollywood, California, where young Ralston became a featured player for five years.
