Moshe Lazar papers

Abstract

Moshe Lazar (1928-2012) was a professor in many subjects at the University of Southern California from the late 1970s until a year before his death. In addition to the many topics he taught at the University, he actively and avidly researched a variety of topics related to medieval literature, antisemitism, and Sephardic studies. The materials in this collection span the breadth of his scholarly interests and activities.

Correspondence, ephemera, and photographs related to Russell Meriwether Hughes ("La Meri")-- ethnic dance icon, instructor, friend (and one-time lover) of Charles Miller who saved the materials which comprise this collection. The collection also includes Miller's own research material and dissertation on Edward Gordon Craig, published in 1957.

The Richard M. Nordin papers consist of correspondence, reports, realia, ephemera, and photographs, created and collected by Mr. Nordin during his tenure as Director of Annual Giving at USC. Abstract Howard Ralston was an alumnus of the University of Southern California (class of 1930) and part of a family acting troupe as a child. Born in Bar Harbor, Maine in 1904, Ralston's family traveled around the country before eventually settling in Hollywood, California, where young Ralston became a featured player for five years.
