Abstract

This small collection appears to have been the class notes of USC alumnus William T. ("Terry") Bates who attended the university between 1974 and 1977. Seven three-ring binders contain his handwritten notes, exam "blue books, and class syllabi for courses in English and American literature, drama, theatre, social psychology, and mathematics. Course instructors include Nina Foch, Richard Toscan, and R.S. Ross, among others.

Abstract Howard Ralston was an alumnus of the University of Southern California (class of 1930) and part of a family acting troupe as a child. Born in Bar Harbor, Maine in 1904, Ralston's family traveled around the country before eventually settling in Hollywood, California, where young Ralston became a featured player for five years. Abstract Helen Walker Truesdell was a poet and literary scholar, as well as an alumnus of USC. Born in 1897, she attended Los Angeles Polytechnic High where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the school's quarterly literary magazine. This small collection consists of a photograph album that documents Carl B. Wirsching's life at USC, with a focus on athletics; Wirsching's two diplomas; a Skull and Dagger plaque; an honorary society key fob; a tag identifying him as a "Three Year Varsity Man"; a pole vault pin, and his Alumni Association president's ring. Wirsching graduated from USC in 1909, and earned his graduate degree in civil engineering from USC in 1919.
