Abstract

This collection contains photograph scrapbooks kept by Eugene Biscailuz during his tenure as Los Angeles County Sheriff, as well as scrapbooks of newspaper clippings kept by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Biscailuz joined the Sheriff’s Department in 1907 and became Sheriff of Los Angeles County in 1932. He retired from the force in 1958.

Abstract

This collection contains an inventory of outdoor sculptures in the Los Angeles and neighboring counties in Southern California, prepared by "Save Outside Sculpture!" volunteers. Save Outdoor Sculpture! (SOS!) (1990-1995) was a nationwide survey committed to documenting and preserving America’s outdoor sculpture. Established in 1990, SOS! helped educate local communities about America’s endangered sculptural heritage.

Abstract The Travel and tourism ephemera collection consists of materials both informational and commemorative in nature, dating from the years 1896 to 2013. The contents of the collection are varied in both format and geographic location. The majority of the material focuses on points of interest in California, with a significant number of items dealing with Los Angeles and the surrounding areas including information about tourist sites and souvenir booklets and items such as postcards....
