Abstract

Philip Ahn was a Korean American actor, WWII veteran, and USC alum. This small collection comprises primarily personal and family photographs, film and television stills, and awards and realia documenting Ahn's professional career, personal life, and his numerous involvements within the Korean community. It also contains scripts, teleplays, and some biographical materials.

Abstract

This collection consists of the scripts used by Korean American actor Philip Ahn (1905-1978). Ahn has over 180 acting credits, often playing Chinese or Japanese characters. A few of his roles include parts in "Hawaiian Eye," "Hawaii Five-O," "Kung Fu," and "M.A.S.H."

This collection primarily consists of undeveloped negatives, snapshots, prints, and correspondence by Los Angeles native photographer Cliff Hall (1925-2020), which appear chiefly to date from the 1950s to early 2000s. The images reflect photo shoots and candid images made by Hall of society and cultural events and often document Los Angeles’ Black community.

Fritzi Massary correspondence

Abstract This collection contains the correspondence of Fritzi Massary with her colleague and friend Violet Oldak. It also includes one letter from Liesl Frank, Fritzi's daughter, to Violet Oldak; a newspaper clipping about Fritzi Massary; an enclosed letter from Lili Darvas to Violet Oldak; a blank postcard featuring a publicity photograph of Massary; and a theater program. Violet Oldak played the character Trudi in the original cast of Operette by Noel Coward and Fritzi Massary played Liesl Haren....
