Abstract

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce materials document the activities of the organization from 1888 through the 1960s. Included in the collection are minutes from the Board of Director’s meetings, reports and publications from various government agencies and business, manufacturing and trade associations; a 35-year run of the Southern California Business Journal; exhibit and promotional graphics; and photographic materials, including prints, negatives, and slides.

Abstract Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church, founded in 1905, is located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. Its longest-serving pastor, Allan A. Hunter, led the congregation from 1926 until his retirement in 1963, but stayed actively involved until his death almost twenty years later. Letters, photographs, ephemera and a large scrapbook created and collected by Mary ("Mollie") Stoddard, president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home in the 1920s. The papers document the Home, and Mollie's personal and philanthropic pursuits. Mary ("Mollie") Wilcox Stoddard (later Mary Wilcox Hurd) was born in Placerville, CA in 1870. Mollie was a long time supporter and president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home.
