The Neighborhood Youth Association began as charitable organization under the aegis of the Episcopal Church in 1914. Using a settlement house approach, the Association's oiginal goal was to acculturate immigrants to Los Angeles' West side neighborhoods to American culture and values. Abstract
Letters, photographs, ephemera and a large scrapbook created and collected by Mary ("Mollie") Stoddard, president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home in the 1920s. The papers document the Home, and Mollie's personal and philanthropic pursuits. Mary ("Mollie") Wilcox Stoddard (later Mary Wilcox Hurd) was born in Placerville, CA in 1870. Mollie was a long time supporter and president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home.
