Biographical / Historical

Janet McCoy was a very prominent member of the USC student body. She was Vice-President of the USC Student Body 1930-31, was affiliated with the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and was a member of the Junior Auxiliary of the Town and Gown Club. She belonged to one of the old pioneer families of Southern California, her maternal grandparents being Judge and Mrs. Victor E. Shaw. She was the daughter of Dr. James D. McCoy, USC '06, a prominent orthodontist and faculty member of the USC School of Dentistry, and a president of the USC General Alumni Association.

Ms. McCoy married Mulvey White, who served USC in the admissions office and as director of the employment bureau before the War, and returned to USC in 1961 as vice president in charge of student and alumni affairs, in 1934. She passed away in October 1987.
