Collection contains the archives of the civil engineering firm B.L. Engineering, Inc. These files include project files, project specifications and standards, financial records, correspondence, bills, and contracts. Also included in this collection are 32 boxes with oversized technical drawings and plans of many of the firm's projects.

Historical Note
B.L. Engineering, Inc., was founded in 1969 by Carlos Sebastian Lorente (owner), and partners Thomas Buenafe and Walter Gregory. The firm was a civil engineering consulting firm that did work for a number of architectural firms, engineers and government agencies. In the 1970s, the firm did a significant amount of work for the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of the City of Los Angeles. Many of their projects were for educational institutions, but they also consulted on the construction of churches, bus maintenance facilities, and civic centers. The firm was dissolved after the death of Lorente in 1993.

Abstract
The B.L. Engineering Inc. archive contains the papers of the civil engineering firm B.L. Engineering, Inc., including contracts, project files, financial records, plans and drawings. The firm, founded in 1969 and owned by the Cuban American Carlos Sebastian Lorente, worked on projects throughout Los Angeles and the region.
Acquisition
Donated to the Boeckmann Center by USC alumna Yolanda Lorente between 1995 and 2011.
Processing Information
The files in this collection retain their original titles but have been rehoused and rearranged.
