Summary of "Recommendations for a National Mental Health Program," by Joint commission on Mental Illness and Health, U.S. Congress , 1961
Scope and Content
The bulk of the material in this collection consists of studies, reports, and other publications that the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health has either issued or commissioned. The collection holds material dating from the Department’s creation in 1960 through 1992. Under the series "Publications," and in box 5, folder 1, can be found a draft copy of a County Mental Health response program to natural disasters and "civil unrest." This, as the draft makes clear, was written after the riots of 1992.
